What happens on the run up to your wedding?

Planning a wedding can feel like you’re juggling flaming swords whilst trying to look calm and romantic at the same time. But don’t worry — I’m here to help guide things along so your experience feels relaxed, exciting, and very you.

From the moment you book, everything we do together is designed to help you feel comfortable, prepared, and completely at ease when the big day finally arrives.

LEARNING ABOUT YOU BOTH

One of the most important parts of wedding photography isn’t actually the camera — it’s getting to know you.

Learning about you both as a couple, as well as individually, helps me create photographs that feel honest, natural, and full of personality. Whether you’re wonderfully chaotic, quiet and camera shy, or somewhere in between, knowing who you are means I can photograph you in a way that feels comfortable rather than awkward or forced.

It also helps me understand the important people around you. Knowing family dynamics, friendship groups, and any sensitivities ahead of time means group photos can run smoothly without unnecessary stress or tension. Think less “herding cats” and more “Fellowship of the Ring but organised.”

My number one priority is making sure you feel safe, relaxed, and able to enjoy your day without worrying about the camera.

PAYMENTS & BOOKING INFORMATION

Once your deposit (or booking fee) has been paid, your wedding date is officially secured in my diary.

The deposit is one third of your chosen package price, and you’ll receive an invoice via WAVE through email. It’s worth keeping this handy, as you can check your payment progress there at any time.

The remaining balance is due two months before your wedding day. You’re welcome to pay this either:

  • In full

  • Or in instalments via bank transfer

When making payments, please use both of your names as the payment reference. Once payment has been sent, just let me know so I can:

  • Send over your receipt

  • Update your invoice

  • Keep everything nice and organised behind the scenes

And don’t forget to send your signed contract back too — boring paperwork, but very important boring paperwork.

THINGS I NEED FROM YOU BEFORE THE WEDDING

Before our final catch-up call, there are a few bits and pieces I’ll need from you to help everything run as smoothly as possible:

  • Your group photo list

  • Contact numbers

  • Photos of your outfits

  • Details of your wedding coordinator (if you have one)

These details help me plan ahead so I know exactly where I need to be and when throughout the day.

YOUR FINAL CATCH-UP

Around a week before the bells ring, we’ll have our final catch-up via video call.

This is our chance to reconnect, go through timelines, confirm all the important details, and make sure everything feels calm and organised before the wedding arrives.

If you’re planning any surprises for each other — gifts, private vows, special reveals, or emotional little moments — I’d absolutely love to know beforehand. Not because I’m nosy (okay, maybe a little), but because these moments make for some of the most meaningful photographs of the entire day.

Knowing about them means I can be in the right place at the right time, ready to capture the magic as it unfolds naturally.
